I also note that there are a number of trigger events which require the crofter register their crofts, and there are very generous time limits associated with these events. Are there any sanctions associated with a failure to register within the stated time limit, if so what is the nature of the sanction? Last year there was a crofting census; have the results been published, and was there any random sampling of returns to check the validity of the results produced?
