Future of Crofting

Crofting Acts

The Crofters (Scotland) Act 1993 as amended by the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2007 and the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 set out the constitution, powers and duties of the Crofting Commission.

The Act also makes provision for Commissioners to delegate the making of decisions on their behalf. Details of the Scheme of Delegation as agreed by the Board of Commissioners can be found here.

The Commission are also required under Section 2C of the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010 to prepare and submit a Plan to the Scottish Ministers setting out their policy on how they propose to exercise their functions.  A copy of the Policy Plan as approved by the Minister can be found here.
